Christie taps Schundler to head Education, Martin to run DEP, Eristoff to be Treasurer

Senate Names Committee Chairs

Governor-elect Christopher Christie this week announced his nomination of three cabinet officials: Former Jersey City Mayor and gubernatorial candidate Bret Schundler as Education Commissioner; business consultant Robert Martin as Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection; and Andrew Eristoff as Treasurer.  Eristoff is a former New York City councilman and finance commissioner under Mayor Rudy Guliani.  He is also a former Commissioner of the New York State Department of Taxation under Gov. George Pataki.

The New Jersey State Senate today announced its list of committee chairs and vice chairs for the new legislative session. Below are the new assignments:
