DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES COUNTY OF SOMERSET is seeking an experienced individual to oversee the fiscal and administrative operations for Somerset County, including debt and financial portfolio management, operational and capital budgets, audit and internal controls, procurement and information technology. Reports directly to the County Administrator and supervises 7 divisions: Finance, Purchasing, County Adjuster, Weights & Measures, Management Information Services, Records Management and Telephone Services. Position also supervises the fiscal operations of the Somerset County Improvement Authority and the Somerset County Park Commission. Oversees the preparation of operating and capital budgets, analyzes financial information for the purpose of providing direction and support, makes fiscal and technical policy recommendations, and acts as a financial and technical resource to the County Administrator and the Board of Chosen Freeholders. This position requires a visionary and strategic leader with strong fiscal integrity and a high degree of professionalism.
Education & experience; graduation from an accredited 4-year college or university required, with an advanced degree in Public Administration or related field, or equivalent experience preferred. State of NJ Certified County Finance Officers and/or Certified Municipal Finance Officers with at least 10 years’ experience in government finance will be considered first. CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
COUNTY OF PASSAIC is seeking an experienced individual with excellent managerial skills and who holds state certification for chief financial officer, county certification a plus (successful candidate must be willing to obtain County Certification within 2 years), must have at least a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Preferable knowledge of Edmunds Software is a plus. In addition to the current fund, CFO duties include general ledger maintenance, budget preparation, payroll, pension, bank reconciliations and accounts payable and receivables, as well as, any other duties assigned. Passaic County’s current fund operating budget is $400 + million. Hospital Administrator/Hospital Director
Essex County Hospital and Institute for Mental Health Policy, Research and Treatment is seeking to hire a full-time Administrator/Director. This 186 bed psychiatric hospital is located in Cedar Grove, NJ
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: The leadership and day to day operations of the hospital, for application and implementation of established policies; Acts as liaison among the governing authority, medical staff, and personnel of the hospital; Establishes formal means of accountability from those to whom he/she has assigned duties. Regularly schedules inter-departmental and departmental meetings, to maintain liaison between the medical staff and other departments; Names appropriate departmental representatives to the multi-disciplinary committee of the hospital; Develops standards and methods for measurement of hospital activities; Long term planning, development of operating objectives and budget; Review financial reports, contracts; and, Recruiting, hiring and maintaining personnel.
Requirements are minimum 5 years experience in the management and supervision of various departments in a hospital or other health care facility. A Master’s degree in Hospital Administration, Health Sciences or Public Administration
